Best Nasi Lemak in Kampar

Nasi Lemak Auntie Theresa, is what we call. Anchovies with onion bits simmered under the slow fire of the stove with a tonne of chillies added, voila, the Theresa Super Sambal. You think you've eaten spicy food? Try this.

It's no ordinary Nasi Lemak, this nasi lemak had since been labeled as The Best Nasi Lemak in Kampar, when a Malaysian Food Specialist and Critique, The Honourable Sir Baron Datuk Tan Sri Tan Guang Pin tried and cried, "Horry smoke, it reminds me of the sambal which my grandmother made for me when I was 7 years old".

It can be found in a place, which was never cared to be named by the Kampar authority, which I call it, "The Gap", which falls in between the Kampar Old Town and The New Town, just like the Palestinian Refugee Camps in Gaza Strip. Being a journalism student, it feels as if I'm doing my job as a war zone correspondent when I'm sitting there, tasting the awesome nasi lemak while imagining the sounds of mortar shells dropped on schools and hospitals miles away.

If you're coming from the New Town, turn right at the traffic light junction after Petronas, then go straight. You will drive pass a small playground on the left, then you'll go through a small bridge. The turn left after the bridge, you cannot go straight (no entry), and turn right immediately, and then turn left again. It's very complicated at first, but when you hone the skills of a F1 driver like me, it's actually very easy. After the last turn, watch out for a 24/7 closed temple (pic on top) on your right, you will see Auntie Theresa's stall (pic below) opposite the temple.

You will need about Rm53,700, yes, Fifty Three Thousand and Seven Hundred Ringgit Malaysia, remember to add ONLY if you're gonna write a cheque. It's not very expensive, it's cheaper than a Myvi.

Enjoy your Nasi Lemak!
